Our Process
ChromaGraphics has developed a work process resulting in quality job after job. These seven steps identify the typical project workflow, taking your design and seeing it through the manufacturing process.
Planning
All new projects are discussed between the job planner and production supervisor, to formulate the best approach for production. They are then planned on our most efficient press format to fit the design, best use of sheet, and run size. A production schedule is published that includes all proofing, press, finishing operations and final delivery.
Proofing
Digital proofs are made using the latest color management software and ICC profiles to insure the closest possible match to your printed sheet. Overlays may be used to show other key attributes of the finished product such as foil(s), embossing, spot coatings, die-cutting and other special finishes. Electronic proofs are available at the request of the client when color has been approved prior to the proofing process.
Plating
Upon final signed proof approval, plates are made directly from the final computer generated proofs and approved by our production supervisors with use of full press sheet blue lines, to ensure that all previous changes were completed.
Printing Process
Each press operator accepts responsibility for quality and consistency of their work, checking all job information thoroughly before proceeding. The operator proceeds with the make ready until the printed sheet matches the customer approved Digital Color Proof, or the first run press check approved sheet. A production supervisor double checks and approves a final set-up press sheet for quality of printing and proper ink color, then signs the sheet before the job starts to run. By request, the customer may arrange to be present for a press check.
Letterpress:
Foil Stamping/Embossing/Diecutting
Each letterpress operator accepts responsibility for quality and consistency of their work and checks all job information thoroughly before proceeding. A production supervisor must approve a final sheet before each job is foil stamped, embossed, and/or diecut.
Quality Control
Press sheets are inspected prior to final trimming or die cutting. Hand inspections may be done, if necessary, to ensure proper color and density value throughout the job. Spot checks are made on the initialed stacks prior to shrink wrap and carton packing. Cartons are clearly marked with customer name, job number, quantity, and date.
Delivery/Shipment
We offer delivery to our customers as well as world-wide shipping to any destination. When larger freight shipments are required, we will use cost-effective common carriers to ensure delivery.
